To expand Neighbor to Neighbor’s warm welcome to our neighbors who come for assistance, N2N volunteers have added both a Kids Zone as well as an unofficial Little Free Library for adults and older children. We could use your help in keeping both areas stocked. We began both areas with books, toys, puzzles, and games that we had at home (as well as some strategic purchases), and we’re hoping others may have treasure troves that will help us continue these popular areas. Items can be brought to the church office. If you have questions, contact Christy Nisbett at christynisbett@gmail.com.
Wish list for Kids Zone:
Sturdy, small toys for younger children. A few examples of what’s popular: Duplos (not Legos), stacking and shape toys, trucks, cars, trains. Important notes: We don’t have storage room for big toys, and we don’t want to put out toys that are noisy or cause messes!
Cards are a huge hit: regular decks of cards, card games, and flash cards.
Books for younger kids. We encourage neighbors to take books home. We ask that they bring books back before taking more books home, but far more books go home than come back. We’re delighted to have so many of our books in circulation, but we need replenishing!
The bilingual English/Spanish books we’ve purchased have been popular; we’d love to have more.
Wish list for unofficial Little Free Library:
Popular books for adults or young adults, both English and Spanish. Fiction or nonfiction.
Magazines in Spanish. (So far, we’re getting enough English magazines for our small library.)
