Neighbor 2 Neighbor welcomes new Senior Services Liaison, Emily Donahue

The Welcome Table, Inc., Board is pleased to announce that Emily Donahue will serve as our new Senior Services Liaison. In June, Welcome Table received a three-year grant from the Episcopal Seniors Foundation to expand the services of Neighbor 2 Neighbor (N2N). The Senior Services Liaison will work on a part-time basis with the Board and the N2N Grow Team to build upon operational capacity by developing a system of volunteer management, building connections with partners in the community, and facilitating connection with Heritage Pointe and other senior-serving institutions. We believe that Emily has the skills, passion, and knowledge of the community to build upon the good work already begun by Neighbor 2 Neighbor.
Emily has been a volunteer with Neighbor 2 Neighbor since 2016, and also coordinates the Reading Buddies program and teacher appreciation events at Norman-Sims Elementary. She works as a soccer referee and coach for young referees, and volunteers with several other organizations in east Austin. Prior to coming to Texas, she was a volunteer supervisor at the student-run Harvard Square Homeless Shelter and coordinator of the volunteer-run Harvard Queer Students and Allies Resource Center. Her favorite part of being a volunteer organizer is the warm and fuzzy feeling of matching wonderful people with fulfilling work.
Emily has lived in east Austin with her husband (Greg) and fur-baby (Juanda) for 3 years, and has been awed and humbled by the St. James’ community and the love that it shows to her neighborhood. She has loved seeing N2N multiply in attendance and in services provided over the past few years, and is excited about being a part of its continued growth toward weekly events and even better assistance for our neighbors!
Please welcome Emily!
