We are here to make this spiritual journey together, so your questions about faith and life are welcome. We serve God by assisting in the formation of Christians from birth through age 18, using hands-on, student centered programs nestled in a diverse, loving, and Episcopal community.

Upcoming Events
Children’s Choir (for all children and youth)
The choir meets monthly at 4:30 pm to learn music, have dinner, and sing at the 5:30 pm Sunday Children’s Service (Next date is Sunday, November 17.)
Family Christmas Eve Service
Join us for our annual family oriented service at 4pm, Tuesday, December 24th. We begin the service with a ‘pick up’ pageant, where children come dressed as their favorite character from the gospel narrative: Stars, Angels, Sheep, Shepherds, Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, Wise-people, and Animals of all kinds. When their character is mentioned in the story they will be invited to join us up at the manger. (No costume? No problem, we have plenty!) The pageant is followed by a brief child oriented Eucharist with music provided by our Children’s Choir.
Children’s Ministry
Nursery Care
Loving care for very young children, ages birth through 3 years old, during church services and select meetings. Professional childcare is provided at the 10:15 am and 5:30 pm Sunday services, as well as on Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.
Godly Play (age 3 – fifth grade)
A Montessori-based program during the first part of the 10:15 am service. Children become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives through parable, sacred story, silence, and liturgical action. The 2019 Fall Semester of Godly Play starts on 8/25/19 and ends on 12/22/19, with a break on 11/10/19 for Jazz at St. James’.
Youth Ministry
We seek to foster a nonjudgmental and compassionate environment where youth in grades 6th through 12th grade can be themselves, wherever you are on your journey of faith. (Friends and guests ages 12-18 are always welcome.) RSVP to familyministry@stjamesaustin.org. If you have dietary restrictions, let Simone know.
Youth Connections
Saturday, November 16, 11 am -2 pm
St James’ Youth Connections group is a chance for youth to get together socially to share in meaningful conversation, fun, fellowship outside of our traditional church environment. Our next gathering is our Friendsgiving Brunch (yummy pancakes!) at the home of Liz Powell and her family, hosted by Lucy Bergin with Alaina Monts.
