The Intercessory Prayer Group has been meeting to pray for the St. James’ community since 1998. We meet on Monday evenings from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. (This time is a change from previous years.) We pray for any concerns of our church community and the extended community, for those on the prayer list, for those in authority over us both in the church and in our daily lives and for national and international needs. If anyone would like to join us, come to the church at 5:30 on Monday evening and we will pray together.
Simone Talma Flowers recently wrote an article for the Statesman. She wants to share Courage to Love, with the St. James’ community as it may inspire and resonate with people’s hearts. Read it here →
Due to the increasing number of participants in the Neighbor 2 Neighbor program, we are in need of a second driver to pick up groceries at the Central Texas Food Bank. This is a twice per month commitment on Monday morning. We will have someone available to complete the loading and unloading of the grocery items. Volunteer will need a truck, large SUV or van. If interested, or if you have questions, please contact Ginger Smith at 757-344-3857. Thanks so much for considering this opportunity to serve.
Thank you
Thank you, thank you, thank you for hospitality, your pie baking skills, your humor and wit, your competitiveness, and your generosity of time, talent, and treasure during our annual MLK Weekend’s Peace through Pies event. Funds raised this year will support both St. James’ Youth Ministry and Welcome Table, Inc.’s Freedom School. But more than the funds it raises, the event brings us together, and reminds us that Peace Includes Everyone.
