Dear Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the death of Letsie James “Khotso” Khabele. An entrepreneur and educator, he made a difference in so many lives here in the greater Austin area. He encouraged young people to be peacemakers, advocates, creators, and thinkers; and he himself embodied these values.
Undoubtedly, you met him as he accompanied his sister Inonge, his mother Joan, and his grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Means to church. His sudden parting from us fills us with grief, and so we ask your prayers for his family, his friends, and the many who have been inspired by his courageous and compassionate life.
We are in conversation with family members about the form and timing of a memorials, given current restrictions on gathering. We will keep you updated.
Letters and cards of condolence may be sent to the Khabele-Means family. For the address, contact office@stjamesaustin.org.
Almighty God, our heavenly Father, in whose hands are the living and the dead: We give you thanks for the life and legacy of Khotso Khabele. Grant to him your mercy and the light of your presence; and give us such a lively sense of your will that the work begun in him may come someday to completion, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
In God’s Peace,
The Rev. Eileen O’Brien
