As you know, Welcome Table, Inc., is the non-profit outreach arm of St. James.’ Through our amazing cadre of volunteers, and strong partnerships with schools and other nonprofits, we bring people together for education, inspiration, sustenance, and fellowship. St. James’ radical hospitality is an essential ingredient of our success, making all the difference among the scholars at Freedom Schools® – Austin and our guests at Neighbor 2 Neighbor. Our partner agencies such as the Center for Health Empowerment (CHE) and Child, Inc., are also on Amplify Austin. The program report below will show you how Neighbor 2 Neighbor is growing.
Through Neighbor 2 Neighbor, we shared more than 10 tons of food, 15,000 children & adult diapers over $43,000 in direct assistance, and a caring community with hundreds of economically disadvantaged families and seniors in 2019. Neighbors pitch in to help with preparation, distribution, and clean-up. Fellowship, knowledge, and skills grow as we work side by side. Neighbor 2 Neighbor is one way that we live into the baptismal promise to respect the dignity of every human being.
