Dear People of St. James’,
We have been hearing a lot about the importance of our national census. It determines the distribution of federal money and electoral college votes. It also provides useful data for academics and policy analysts seeking the common good.
Here at St. James’ we are conducting an annual parish census. Through this process the vestry and staff can determine who is here, who considers St. James’ their church. We can also confirm where we are and how best to get in touch with each other. We can size up who is involved in what.
This year’s census provides a particularly important set of baseline information for us as we leave a period of transition and embark upon a season of growth. In order to measure that growth, we have been strategic about the questions we are asking, and we would like you to fill out the form as completely as possible. We are also implementing the use of a brand-new database, and there are a lot of questions we have never asked you.
Please take the time to fill out a form for each member of your household. Paper copies will be available at the church, but filling out this online form will provide us with the greatest ease in organizing your responses.
Thank you for your participation.
