Novel Theology
Sunday, February 23, and Sunday, March 22
After the 10:15 am service
Join Jason Myers, Claire Colombo, and the Novel Theology group as we explore spiritual themes in works of fiction. Here’s our spring lineup:
On February 23 we’ll discuss Colm Tóibín’s Testament of Mary, a “grim and lovely” retelling of the events of Jesus’ life and death from the perspective of his mother, many years after the Crucifixion. If you prefer audiobooks, you’re in for a treat — this one is read by Meryl Streep!
On March 22 we’ll ponder Charles Johnson’s Dreamer, a fictional account of the last two years of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life that emphasizes his work as a ministry — a commitment to “truth seeking and spiritual practice.”
Join us in the Orange Building side A for a light lunch and good conversation — whether you’ve read the book or are just curious to hear about it!
