The Honorable Lora Livingston was honored with the Spirit of Excellence Award by the American Bar Association on February 15. The Spirit of Excellence celebrates the efforts and accomplishments of lawyers who work to promote a more racially and ethnically diverse legal profession. Awards are presented to lawyers who excel in their professional settings; who personify excellence on the national, state or local level; and who have demonstrated a commitment to racial and ethnic diversity in the field of law. Melody Fullylove and Bill Newchurch will appear in King Productions’ Texas premiere of Travisville by William Jackson Harper (Chidi Anagonye on NBC’s The Good Place). A Texas city’s black church leaders, white mayor, and citizens have have maintained a wary peace during the 1960’s civil rights movement. But when the mayor partners with a developer to gentrify a neighborhood and uproot its black residents, the minister’s alliance needs to choose between the non-confrontational status quo and standing up for the interests of their community and weathering the risks resistance incurs. Due to the increasing number of participants in the Neighbor 2 Neighbor program, we are in need of a second driver to pick up groceries at the Central Texas Food Bank. This is a twice per month commitment on Monday morning. We will have someone available to complete the loading and unloading of the grocery items. Volunteer will need a truck, large SUV or van.
