Welcome Table Job Posting – Senior Services Liaison
The Welcome Table, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization associated with St. James Episcopal Church, seeks a part-time Senior Services Liaison to work with our Neighbor 2 Neighbor Program. The Welcome Table’s mission is to create greater access to education, health, and quality food for children, families, and senior neighbors in our east Austin community. In partnership with local schools and other organizations, we bring people together for inspiration, education, sustenance, and friendship.
The Neighbor 2 Neighbor (N2N) program is a source of assistance, community, reliable information and trusted advocacy for our high-risk neighbors in the area surrounding St. James Episcopal Church, to improve their health and quality of life. The program works through partnerships and dedicated staff/volunteers to provide a variety of basic needs and services, including a food pantry, household items, health screenings and utility assistance.
The program meets 2 times per month at St. James’ Episcopal Church, where it is based. We receive more than 1000 household visits a year, many from seniors. We help our neighbors maintain active, independent lifestyles given food insecurity, multiple health issues, fixed incomes (average $750/mo) & rising cost of living.
