The key to all this connection is for you to share your “why.” Why do you support the Welcome Table? A few of our favorites are listed below; you can copy and paste or write your own. Tell your network which Welcome Table success stories make your heart sing, and invite them to join you in that effort.
Welcome Table’s 2021 Hall of Fame
- Neighbor 2 Neighbor distributed more than 80,000 pounds of food, over 60,000 diapers and incontinence products, and $65,000+ in bill pay assistance, in an atmosphere of mutual affection where respect and dignity are absolutely essential.
- Fresh produce is a central ingredient at our food pantry. Neighbors tell us that even their kids love trying new, fresh veggies.
- Relationships are key. Our all-volunteer call center reaches out on a regular basis. Our neighbors feel it, and they share the love, paying it forward.
- Freedom Schools scholars get inspired for learning and reconnect with “something inside so strong,” in the words of our theme song.
- Average 10 months reading level gained each summer since 2014, with year-round events and activities to stay engaged and supported.
- 93% of our 2021 scholars avoided summer learning loss.
- More than 6000 hours of volunteer service have been generated in East Austin since the pandemic began!
