Our good friend Rev. Jay Alanís has retired from seminary teaching and is returning to his home in San Juan. “Padre Jay,” as we affectionately call him, has assisted with Proyecto Santiago, our Spanish-speaking community, for more than four years. We will miss his sermons, friendship, singing, and laughter. He helped us at the Casa Marianella refugee house often and was a stalwart participant in our neighborhood Stations of the Cross there on Good Friday. We’re grateful for his presence and witness among us and his generosity of time. We add our best wishes and blessings on his journey back to the Rio Grande Valley. ¡Adiós, Padre Jay! Muchas gracias, y ¡que Dios te bendiga, ahora y por siempre!
