Proyecto Santiago está ofreciendo ayuda legal gratuita a los padres de familia preocupados por una
posible deportación. Tramitamos Cartas de Poder Legal Especial (Special Power of Attorney) para los padres/madres y una Declaración Jurada del Apoderado (Caregiver’s Affidavit).
Con este Poder de Abogado, un pariente o amigo puede cuidar a los niños de un padre o madre arrestado por ICE (policía de inmigración). Este Poder también da permiso oficial a cuidar al
niño, tener custodia del niño, proveer servicios médicos al niño, y llevar al niño a la escuela y sacarlo
de la escuela, etc. Para tener valor, es necesario que los padres/madres se presenten en persona para obtener este Poder tanto como la persona a quien van a designar que sea apoderado/a. Y cada persona tiene que traer una identificación oficial de la que sea. Por favor traiga el número de seguro social de los niños o su número de identificación de la escuela.

POWER OF ATTORNEY
Proyecto Santiago is offering free legal assistance for parents worried about possible deportation. We will prepare a Special Power of Attorney and the Caregiver’s Affidavit for immigrant parents.
This will let a relative or friend take care of the children, if it becomes necessary because of (ICE)
immigration police. This Power of Attorney gives the relative or friend the authority to provide medical care, have custody of, and take child to/from school, etc.
For the Power of Attorney, the parents must be present in person and also the relative/friend who
will receive the Power of Attorney should be present. Everyone needs to bring an official identification of whatever kind. Please bring the children’s social security number or school
identification number.
A lawyer supervises the process.
