As Austin PRIDE approaches, mark your calendar for these upcoming gatherings:

Thursday, July 25, 7-9 pm: Open Arms Integrity Eucharist and Potluck at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Austin This is a quarterly community Eucharist for the new Open Arms Integrity chapter here in Austin.

Saturday, July 27, 2-4 pm: LGBTQIA+ Panel Discussion at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Austin Dr. Brandon Beck from Texas State University will be a part of this panel conversation about identity and experience of people within the LGBTQIA+ community.

Wednesday, July 31, 7 pm: Open Table Eucharist , preacher: The Rev. Eileen O’Brien

at St. David’s Episcopal Church, Austin This worship service seeks to meet our longing for spiritual connection, community, inclusion, and/or stillness. It is a gathering space for the LGBTQ community, and open to anyone seeking God in our midst. It is held on the last Wednesday of the month. All are welcome. Please contact Fr. This annual LGBTQIA+ inclusive event tradition is an official part of Austin Pride Week and features speakers from our LGBTQIA+ communities. 300+ attendees expected this year. FAITH LEADER PROCESSIONAL:

All faith leaders invited to join our opening processional. Most participants choose to wear garments indicative of their faith leader roles, including robes, stoles, yarmulkes, head coverings, showing off tattoos. Please wear whatever you feel is appropriate for a faith leader in your community. Participants asked to arrive early.

Saturday, August 10, PRIDE Parade Email Rev. Eileen at rector@stjamesaustin.org if you would like to be part of a St. James’ contingent marching in the PRIDE parade with representatives of other inclusive and affirming Episcopal congregations.

PARADE DETAILS The parade kicks off at the Texas State Capitol Building and marches down Congress Ave., turning right on 4th St. through the Warehouse District.truck with a trailer so some people can ride. Of course, people can roll in wheelchairs or rolling skates, too. Whatever the mode of transportation, we will walk together in and for love. We will meet in our assigned spot (TBA) before 7:00p.m. on Saturday, August 10. Parade theme=Boogie Wonderland We dress in Episcopal parish related gear and wear what makes us feel fabulous theme or non theme-related.
