On Sunday, January 15, we will honor Dr. King’s life and legacy and raise funds for Youth Missions through Peace Through PIE! This annual event is hosted by the St. James’ Youth Group. Proceeds will provide scholarships for this year’s mission trips.
The event will feature both live and online auctions, pies to enjoy, and pizza pies for sustenance.
You can participate by signing up to donate one of your best pie creations or by bidding on the amazing pies that we will have on auction, from 6pm on January 14 to 1 pm on January 15.
If you would like to donate a pie, click on the button below and fill out the form. Then, be prepared to drop it off at the church on January 14 between 11 am and 2 pm, so that we can load a picture and description of your delicious creation onto the pie auction website.
You can also help us out by sharing the news of the pie auction and inviting potential bidders to join us for our MLK celebration with guest preacher, Dr. Margaret Aymer, Academic Dean of Austin Presbyterian Seminary.
Peace Through Pie is an expression of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream of a “Beloved Community”, where everyone shares a piece of the pie. PTP’s mission initiates and encourages conversation about the values we share and our ability to make peace with our neighbors. Find out more here.
