Racial Healing Lecture

Rob Corcoran is the author of Trustbuilding: An Honest Conversation on Race, Reconciliation, and Responsibility. Rob is a trainer, facilitator, writer, and racial healing practitioner. Before moving to Austin Rob lived in Richmond, Virginia, site of the nation’s largest interstate slave market and capital of the Confederacy during the American Civil War. Over three decades his team built a diverse network engaging all sectors and developed a nationally recognized model for dialogue, racial healing and partnership building. His presentation will provide an overview to the basic principles of his approach regarding racial healing. Volunteer Deputy Registrar Training
You can help ensure more Central Texans can vote by training to become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR). All that’s needed to get started is an hour of your time. After the online training, you qualify to register voters in the State of Texas. Upcoming VDR training dates for Travis County include:
Tuesdays, August 24, September 7, September 21 and Saturday, September 11.
Sign-up is easy. Go to https://tax-office.traviscountytx.gov/voters/volunteer-deputy-registrars, choose either the “reserve your spot” or “register now to attend” buttons. Under the questions, “Training on behalf of an organization? If so, what organization?” be sure to list the “UBE Myra McDaniel Chapter.” After you complete your training and are certified/deputized, please send an email to Chaz Nailor at chaznailor@gmail.com to let us know.
