Youth Spring Break Service Week

March 16-19, 9am to 1pm (8am-9am breakfast and early arrivals)

Join middle and high school youth from St James’ and other Austin area Episcopal churches for a fun and meaningful in-town service week. We’ll meet at a different site each morning. Details to come.

Good Friday Project: Youth Open Studio

Sunday, March 8, and Sunday, March 29

Orange Building Room A, Light lunch provided

Youth in grades 6th through 12th are invited drop-in to our Lenten arts open studio, held in between the 10:15am and 1pm services. Bring your art supplies, or use ours, to sketch, paint, draw, bead, write, color, or journal, and have conversations with your peers. No lessons, no topics, just art supplies, food, music, and you.

Youth Roadtrip!

Union of Black Episcopalians (UBE) 52nd Annual Business Meeting and Conference
June 29 – July 3, 2020

Renaissance Montgomery Spa & Hotel
Montgomery, Alabama

(Travel details to come; we may depart/return a day before/after conference dates)

Features youth worship service, museum visit, tours, walk across the Edmund Pettus Bridge. Read up on Selma, Alabama, or about Rep. John Lewis to understand the bridge’s significance. Open to ALL youth (all youth!). We’re partnering with the youth ministry at St. James’, Houston, for this trip, and meeting up with youth from Episcopal Churches from many dioceses.

Camp Allen

Don’t Forget

Children’s Service is now on 1st Sundays — all year round

4:30 pm Children’s Choir rehearsal with pizza dinner open to all children AND youth,

5:30pm service the Children’s Choir sings, and children and youth gather seated at the altar to hear a children’s sermon (usually preached by Liz Powell). Next date: March 1.

Youth Journey is now 3rd Sundays at 4PM

Open to all middle school and high school students, this is our monthly gathering of youth to ponder questions big and small on our journey of faith, while we share a light meal together in the Orange Building at St. James’. Next date: February 16.
