Dear People of St. James’,
Words cannot express the immense love I felt on Monday night from the entire congregation. Every person from outside our community has shared with me how much love they witnessed that evening. I was truly overwhelmed with emotion, as I’m sure many of you could see.
It brought me such joy to have all the people who have been part of my journey to the priesthood represented together in one place. I want to thank each and every one of you for the role you’ve played in my formation and for the parish’s support of my journey within the Diocese of Texas from the very beginning.
Monday night marked the culmination of the parallel journeys of St. James’ and myself. I will cherish the memories of that evening for the rest of my life. The parish showed up as its authentic self, and that was not lost on our visitors. Dr. Fentress-Williams spent the remainder of her visit speaking about the energy and love that radiated from the parish, affirming how truly blessed I am to be part of this community—a blessing I never take for granted.
I know that the saints and angels were truly present with us that evening and that the Holy Ghost resided at 1941 Webberville Road.
