SUMMARY:Voices in Verse: A Tribute to Loretta Diane Walker
DESCRIPTION:Join us at St. James’ Episcopal Church for an evening of multi-cultural poetry, live painting featuring Chris Rogers, and jazz featuring the Joe Morales Trio. \nThe following poets will be featured in the reading: Roja Chamankar, Cindy Huyser, Elina Petrova, Lisha Garcia, Charles Darnell, Usha Akella, Andrea Sanderson, and Terry Dawson.\nThis event is a loving homage to Loretta Diane Walker, a founding member of “Five Voice Brush.” Prior to her too-soon passing on July 5, 2022, Loretta Diane Walker, a two-time nominee for the Pushcart Prize for poetry, published two collections of her work. Her poetry can also be found in the new anthology of 60 Texas women poets entitled Her Texas and within her manuscript In This House, soon to be published by Bluelight Press, 1st World Publishing. Her manuscript Word Ghetto won the 2011 Bluelight Press Book Award. It is an honor to pay tribute to this beautiful soul through words, music, and art.\n
