Ericka is a born and raised Texan married to an 8th generation Texan, Jared. She has two little Texans, Simon age 3 and Jude age 7 months. Jared and Ericka met during college at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX and were married in August 2004. Ericka graduated from HSU with a BBS in English Education and a MEd in Gifted and Talented Education. Jared has two degrees from HSU as well, a BA in History and a MA in Family Psychology.
Jared and Ericka moved to Austin in August 2010 for Jared to attend the Seminary of the Southwest and pursue ordination in the Episcopal Church. He is currently a middler and will graduate May 2013. His field parish placement is at All Saints’ Episcopal and their family attends regular services there. St. James’ has become a second home for Ericka though. Being a parish administrator here is never boring and always very rewarding. She is proud to be a little part of this community and loves to worship here when she can. There is just no other church like St. James’ Austin!
